Easy How-To Home Maintenance with Hubbell Homes

When it comes to home maintenance, there are quite a few things you need to know to keep your house running and functioning like it should. While some issues may come back to the builder, trade or a faulty product, a lot of what homeowners do in their everyday efforts can make a huge impact on how well their house holds up over time.

One of our most well-versed Hubbell Home associates, Stuart, gets all sorts of questions from homeowners on their quality walks and day-of celebrations. From humidity control to window weep hole cleaning, Stu has been asked it all. That’s why he started his own YouTube playlist titled “We Give You More,” in an effort to take the extra step to educate homeowners on easy maintenance wins.

Just like the seasons, Stu’s advice changes with the time of year.

“When we’re in the middle of the spring and summer months, when rain and storms can hit at a moment’s notice, it’s really good to have your sump pump, and humidity checks in control,” said Stu.

In the colder months, it’s always a good idea to keep an eye on your home’s heating and cooling systems. In addition, Stu says it’s the perfect time of year to ‘winterize’ your home in preparation and then take some easy indoor cleaning steps once it’s too cold to be outdoors.

Hubbell Homes also offers a variety of one-year warranty promises as well as longer term warranties on things like basement waterproofing and pest control.

“If you’ve ever walked around the exterior of a Hubbell Home, you may notice a small box and that is part of our termite monitoring system that is installed by Preferred Pest Control. Iowa does have termites, and these are placed strategically around your home, then monitored annually by Preferred Pest,” explained Stu.

Check out Stu’s YouTube Playlist on a regular basis as we continue to bring you more how-to’s for your home maintenance.
