West Des Moines, IA (June 2, 2014) – Edencrest at Riverwoods, a new 40 apartment assisted living and memory care community located on the south side of Des Moines, welcomed its first residents yesterday and today. The community, a $7.4 million investment, was developed by Hubbell Realty Company along with equity partner Persimmon Capital Partners, Washington D.C. Edencrest at Riverwoods is the first community under Hubbell’s new Edencrest brand.

Edencrest at Riverwoods is a certified assisted living community through the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals. It features private apartments as well as common areas including a central dining room, exercise room, beauty salon and private gathering areas for family and friends.

The new community also offers a specialized, secured environment for persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The secured memory care is designed to meet the needs of individuals who require supervision and/or assistance with activities of daily living through daily programming.

A unique combination of housing, support services, personal assistance and health care is delivered in a residential environment that is staffed with trained professionals 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Edencrest at Riverwoods also has a full-time Registered Nurse, Community Manager, Life Enrichment Coordinator and Culinary Coordinator.

Tours of Edencrest at Riverwoods are available by appointment or by walk-in. Open houses are held on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and Sundays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on July 18, 2014 at 12:00 pm. This event is open to the public and will be held at Edencrest at Riverwoods, 2210 East Park Avenue, Des Moines, IA.
