WEST DES MOINES, IA (October 19, 2016) – Last week, Hubbell Realty Company presented the local chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Iowa Chapter with a check for $16,000. The proceeds were the result of the Hubbell Extreme Charity Golf Classic held in September at the Copper Creek Golf Club in Pleasant Hill.
The 2016 Hubbell Extreme Charity Golf Classic welcomed over 250 golfers and sponsors from dozens of local companies in support of three local charity organizations. The event offered the chance to not only golf and enjoy the 19-year-old golf course in Pleasant Hill which added The Bunker Sports Pub & Grill this spring, but more importantly, support and raise money for local organizations making significant impacts across Central Iowa.
“The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation provides invaluable resources to our local community and those afflicted with this disease,” said Rick Tollakson, president and CEO of Hubbell Realty Company. “We, along with the foundation are committed to ensuring strong and healthy communities throughout our region.”
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation works to find a cure for the disease and to provide all people with the disease an opportunity to lead full, productive lives through funding of key research, drug development, and working to ensure high-quality, specialized care.
In addition to the funds raised, Jesse Bunney, senior associate with CBRE|Hubbell Commercial serves as the Corporate Board president for the Iowa chapter.
This year’s event raised 50 percent more than last year’s record donation, a testament to the giving spirit of local businesses and the importance of the work of the three non-profit groups.
After receiving their $16,000 donation check, Melodee Pomerantz, Executive Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Iowa Chapter said, “Due to donations like this, we have made significant strides to find a cure for cystic fibrosis, but the road ahead is a very long and costly one. And we will not rest until we have a cure for all people living with this devastating disease. Thank you to Hubbell Realty and all the sponsors of the event for being dedicated supporters.”
The chosen charities are asked to promote this charity golf outing within each of their individual networks of board members, donors and volunteers.
