A nationwide shortage in construction workers is taking its toll in Des Moines. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported approximately 250,000 open construction jobs nationwide in June. Des Moines has one of the most noticeable shortages.
Construction sites like the Ronald McDonald House extreme build are posting “workers wanted” signs in search of concrete finishers and laborers, footing and wall workers and more.
