The following are highlights from CBRE|Hubbell Commercial’s 2021 first-quarter market report for the Des Moines area:
• 8.6%, or 1.2 million square feet, of the area’s 14.4 million square feet of retail space was vacant.
• 12.5%, or 529,199 square feet, of the area's 4.2 million square feet of neighborhood and community center space was vacant. The western suburbs had the most vacant space with 261,220 square feet available to lease. The central business district had 158,230 square feet of space vacant.
