Ashford Ridge reconstruction complete following 2020 fire

Hubbell Construction Services has completed the reconstruction at Ashford Ridge, located at 3600 Patricia Drive in Urbandale.

The reconstruction, which took place from mid-2020 through early summer of 2021, rebuilt 36 apartment homes featuring 1-and-2-bedrooms. Of those reconstructed apartments, 31 are leased to date.

The total number of apartments in the community is now 120. The overall cost was estimated at $3.6 million, and no cause of the fire has been determined.

“We’re extremely fortunate that none of our residents were hurt during the fire and that, with the help of Urbandale Fire and Police, we were able to get everyone to safety. It was a devastating fire, and we are thankful to have finished rebuilding so we can continue providing people who live and work in Urbandale a place to live,” said David May, Regional Manager for Hubbell Apartment Living.

The reconstruction came after a large fire took place on March 8, 2020, engulfing the entire building. Fortunately, no one died in the fire, with only minor injuries were reported but there were multiple pets who passed away due to smoke inhalation
