Rick Tollakson, President & CEO of Hubbell Realty Company, has been named to Cityview Magazine’s “21 from 2021” Businesspeople Who Made A Difference list, announced on Thursday.
These awards honored 21 individuals who have made an impact on the central Iowa business community throughout 2021. Tollakson was honored for his work on the fifth and final Hubbell Extreme Build – Care for Kids build that took place at Easterseals Iowa from September 10-17, 2021.
The build expanded the current child development center at Camp Sunnyside capacity from 60 kids to 120 children. Tollakson has led Hubbell Extreme Build events since 2006, when Hubbell was asked to be part of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Since then, Hubbell built: 9 Homes in 9 Days for 9 Families in 2009 for Anawim Housing, Cabins for Campers at Easterseals Iowa in 2013 and a brand new Ronald McDonald House of Central Iowa in 2017.
