Des Moines Register: Gray's Station ready to start Phase Two

Hubbell Realty Co. is moving on to the second phase of its Gray's Station neighborhood in downtown Des Moines.

Plans include 85 units of owner-occupied condos spread out across two buildings, 65 more townhomes, a neighborhood clubhouse and dog park, plus the extension of Gray's Parkway, Murphy and Southwest 13th streets. Work on the $40 million project is expected to start in the spring.

To be completed over the next decade, the full 75-acre Gray's Station will have up to 1,200 housing units in a walkable setting. It's located in an abandoned rail yard just south of the central business district between Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and the Raccoon River and between Southwest 11th and Southwest 16th streets.
