West Des Moines, IA (October 27, 2014) –
Hubbell Realty Company awarded $15,000 to Des Moines area nonprofit
organizations last week on behalf of the sponsors and participants in
the Hubbell Extreme Charity Golf Classic. Operation First Response,
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa, Inc. and Best Buddies
Iowa each received $5,000 in support of their missions.
“Best Buddies has recently begun to implement our program to help
kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in middle
schools,” said Jesse Bunney, Best Buddies Iowa Chairman of the Board and
CBRE|Hubbell Commercial sales associate. “With the support we received
from Hubbell Realty Company, we will be able to sustain the growth we
have already accomplished and ensure that schools will be fully funded
in the future.”
The Hubbell Realty Company Extreme Charity Golf Classic is held
annually to support three local organizations that make central Iowa a
better place. This year’s golf tournament took place on September 11 at
Copper Creek Golf Course in Pleasant Hill.
“The donation from Hubbell will be used to pay heating bills this
winter for our wounded heroes,” said P.J. Sesker-Green, Operation First
Response Chairman of the Board. “Many families face the decision of
paying the heat bill or purchasing food, so this donation will eliminate
that burden.”
“The Ronald McDonald House helps families stay together during the
crisis of childhood illness or injury by providing a place to stay, that
is close to their child, with all the comforts of home,” said Jack
Reed, development director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central
Iowa. “We are grateful for Hubbell's support and are honored to have
been chosen as a recipient.”
