West Des Moines, IA (June 30, 2015) – Des Moines area golfers looking to squeeze in a quick round will have a brand new course to play Friday, July 3, as The Executive 9 at Woodland Hills prepares to open to the public. Owned and operated by Hubbell Realty Company, the nine-hole executive course is designed for faster play while featuring a variety of twists and turns to test every club in a golfer’s bag. Local officials and businesses were offered golf cart tours of the course Tuesday as a preview before opening day.

 

“Our frequent golfers have been looking forward to The Executive 9’s opening all spring and we’ve heard from many others who are excited that the course offers a different kind of golfing experience,” said Ken Norland, Director of Golf at Woodland Hills Golf Course. “This course taps into a wider market of golfers and attracts a new generation to the sport because it’s perfect for families and people just learning to play.” 

 

The Executive 9 at Woodland Hills consists of three par 4 holes and six par 3 holes, ranging in yardage from 100 to 350 yards. With a total par of 30, The Executive 9 is ideal for beginners, juniors, families and golfers with limited time. The pace of play rating for the course is 70 minutes, but in ideal conditions it can be completed in as little as one hour.

 

The nine-hole executive course at Woodland Hills Golf Course joins an 18-hole regulation golf course and a practice facility with target greens, practice chipping and putting greens. The daily rate for The Executive 9 is $13, with a special rate of $10 for seniors (age 60 and older) and juniors (age 12 and under). Woodland Hills’ 18-hole rate is $22 Monday-Thursday and $26 Friday-Sunday. Senior rates are $15 Monday-Thursday and $22 Friday-Sunday.
