HUBBELL BEGINS FINAL PHASE OF GLYNN VILLAGE NEIGHBORHOOD IN WAUKEE

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (December 20, 2016) – Glynn Village, the popular residential neighborhood in Waukee, located just west of Waukee High School and south of Centennial Park, has completed construction of the final plat consisting of 140 single family home lots and 40 future townhome lots and new home construction is now underway. 

Glynn Village, one of five conservation communities developed by Hubbell over the past decade brings a unique character to the growing Des Moines suburb.

Hubbell was one of the first developers in the Midwest to institute the conservation community concept. “Conservation communities are designed to minimize the neighborhood’s impact on the environment by reducing the effect of water run-off by slowing it down as it is filtered through native grasses and prairies,” explained Hubbell’s vice president of land development, Joe Pietruszynski. 

The 87 acres designated for single family homes will be constructed by Hubbell Homes and other third party builders; an approach designed to ensure design diversity in a neighborhood already boasting a diverse look.

Rachel Flint, vice president of Hubbell Homes, the home-building arm of Hubbell Realty Company, says that this is the last chance to purchase new single family homes in the development. “These last lots will not only go fast, but we are planning to build a variety of our floorplans which will provide shoppers a range of options for their next home,” Flint said. 

The homes planned by Hubbell Homes will start in the $300,000 range and have square footages from 1600 to 2500 in total area. They already have ten homes started which will be completed in early 2017 and are available for purchase now. 

Once Plat 10 of Glynn Village is complete, it will add nearly $60 million in tax base to the city of Waukee and Dallas County. 

Overall, Glynn Village encompasses 295 acres on the western edge of Waukee. Since the project inception in 2006, Glynn Village has added over $135 Million to the Waukee property tax base.
