The Home Company, a long time Omaha-based homebuilder, is expanding their semi-and-semi-custom homebuilding efforts to Lincoln. The Home Company plans to start with 12 homes in various neighborhoods including Wilderness Commons, with digs beginning as soon as the end of this month.
"Between our dedicated trade partner connections and our strong reputation for quality homes in the marketplace, Lincoln presents a fantastic opportunity for us to grow our footprint in Nebraska," said Dave Vogtman, Senior Vice President of Omaha Operations which includes The Home Company, The Land Company and Premier Land Title Company. "We are coming off of a record-breaking 2025 home season, and we feel that this is the right move right now."
Vogtman, who has 25-plus years in the homebuilding industry and is a Metro Omaha Builders Association (MOBA) Board Member, has been leading The Home Company since its inception in 2012, under the then-leadership of Mark Boyer and Tim Young. The Home Company built over 180 homes in 2025 and has received Best of Omaha - Homebuilder award ten (10) years in a row.

The three Omaha companies were acquired by Hubbell Realty Company, a 170-year-old real estate development, homebuilding and construction company based in West Des Moines, Iowa, in 2019. Hubbell has 17 operating divisions, including three Iowa-based homebuilding companies.
The Home Company is planning to build primarily expansive ranches and a handful of two-story plans that will feature expanded multi-generational suites for larger families, a product that's been very well received in other areas of Nebraska. The first community, Wilderness Commons, is located near 40th St. and Old Cheney Road, near Lincoln South Beltway, dining and the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.
The Home Company plans to build 12 homes throughout the city, with prices expected to range from $500,000-$800,000. The homes are expected to be completed in early summer and are on the market now.
