This summer, Hubbell Realty Company will begin the construction of Edison, a for-sale condominium community, off of SW 7th Street in downtown Des Moines. The 52-unit building will be developed in two, three-story buildings with a warehouse-like brick facade and beautiful walk-up units.
Edison is the first new condominium construction in downtown in many years and is a great opportunity for first-time homebuyers looking to stay near the downtown core. Price points will start at $169,900 and will extend to $325,000, with an average price point of $225,000 for a studio, one- or two-bedroom condo.
“This was a very important step for Hubbell to bring more affordable, for-sale housing to downtown Des Moines. We understand not every downtown home is within a first-time homebuyers price range, but at Edison it will be, and you will still be blocks away from Court Avenue, Western Gateway, Principal Park, Gray’s Lake and many other neighborhood amenities,” said Kris Saddoris, Vice President of Multifamily Development with Hubbell.
In addition to a variety of interior features, Edison will also feature private garage stalls and a large outdoor courtyard. Construction and pre-sale opportunities will begin in summer 2019, with the building completion expected in fall 2020.
